STATE OF THE ART
Our building was the first freestanding facility in the nation to be designed with dementia
or Alzheimer's in mind. Built in
1997, we have a state-of-the-art 6600 sq. foot facility
which has been visited by people as far away as Wisconsin who want to
build a facility based on our model. The wide hallway is continuous, and in a complete square with
non-glare, nonskid surfaces. Hand rails are in place for our clients to utilize and we are wheelchair
accessible..
This design in our hallway is beneficial for clients who have a need to walk or wander. We have secure indoor & outdoor areas plus keypad entry & exit systems.
We also have three fenced outdoor garden areas and two screened porches with rocking chairs.

ACTIVITY ROOMS
The two main rooms at the center are Activity Room One and Activity Room Two which correspond to the two groups of clients. We have a recreation room with a pool table
and various games. This room is used to give individual attention, and this environment is a distraction technique
for a client who is agitated or wanting to "go home". We have an activity kitchen with safety switches along with bathing & changing areas.
We also have displays of keepsakes from the past, outdoor & indoor gardening and a sunroom.
