Connection Problems

Do you have a problem connection or staying connected? Check the problems below to see if you are experiencing one of these problems.

           Busy Signal/No Answer

  • Getting a Busy Signal Between  5 PM - 12 AM
    Our peak hours are from 5 PM to 12 AM. During this time, you may experience some difficulty connecting.


    Wrong Number
  • Verify that the access number correct. If in doubt please call our help desk. 

    Frequent Disconnect
  • Noisy Telephone Line
    Reduce the Port Speed of Your Modem to stabilize the connection. If you are inexperienced in this, please call our help desk. 
  • Check line clarity by calling the phone company. 
  • Phone Cord  to Close to an Electrical Cable
    Make sure phone lines and electrical chords are not tangled. Use shorter phone chords.
  • Improper Internet Configuration
    Improper configuration can affect most problems. Many connectivity problems are a result of improper connectivity settings. If unsure of how to configure your dial-up networking or modem, please contact our help desk. 

    Invalid User Name/Password

  • Incorrect User Name
    Make sure your user name and password are typed correctly, these are case sensitive, using small letters and no spaces.
  • I know my user name is correct
    Call the help desk to verify the spelling of your user name and password

    No Dial Tone

  • Faulty Telephone Cord
    Sometimes the telephone cord between the modem and the wall becomes damaged and needs replacing. 

  • Faulty Modem
    Sometimes modems are affected by static charges,  or power surges. If you think this may be the problem, LogOn has a service center on premises which can analyze this for you. 
  • The cable between the modem and wall is not properly connected. Most modems have two jacks, which are labeled. The line jack is for the phone line running to the wall. A phone may be connected to the phone jack. 
  • Improper Internet Configuration

    Unable to Initialize Modem
  • Improper Modem Initialization String

  • Other Modem Applications are Open
    Such applications as fax, answering machine software  etc. prevent the modem from operating properly. .Make sure these applications are close which using the modem
