Make sure phone lines and electrical chords are not
tangled. Use shorter phone chords.

Improper configuration can affect most problems.
Many connectivity problems are a result of improper

cable between the modem and wall is not properly
connected. Most modems have two jacks, which are
labeled. The line jack is for the phone line running
to the wall. A phone may be connected to the phone
jack.
