Lakeway Area HfH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.

Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - 'sweat equity' - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.


The City of Morristown has just recently made it possible for five work release inmates to work full time on current building projects. These workers are very happy to be working in this fulfilling program. LAHFH was also host to a wonderful and energy charged group of ten youth and four adults from Mechanicsburg Christian Church's Helping Hands Ministry in Mechanicsburg,IN during the first week of April. Along with their energy and willingness to learn the fundamentals of installing drywall, the group presented LAHFH with a $500 donation for building materials. May God continue to Bless Helping Hands Ministry.


1. Each volunteer must fill out a volunteer & waiver form before being assigned a work site. 2. Please give at least 24 hours notice when available to volunteer. 3. The volunteer must be 14 years of age and older to work on construction. 4. All volunteers must sign in & out and fill out a construction volunteer log detailing work site and work completed.
