Fall Creek Koolaid - The Home Brew

As you can see, Dennis also likes to sample each run of Fall Creek Koolaid.
However, as you can also see, he has a drinking problem.
The first glass and he missed his mouth!

I really shouldn't do this, but by popular request, here is the secret formula for Fall Creek Koolaid:

Pour five gallons of Oceanspray Cranapple juice into a large jug. Add 5 pounds of sugar (actually, 10 cups - there are about 11 cups in 5 pounds of sugar) and one packet of yeast. Mix the yeast in a cup of juice and heat it up just a little before you mix it in. This activates the yeast. Close the jug with a vapor lock. This lets the gases out, without letting in more air. This can be something as simple as a piece of plastic and a rubber band! Just as long as no more air gets in.

If you are using a real water vapor lock, you can count the bubbles for a minute. When you get to one bubble every 70 to 90 seconds, the wine should be ready. This will take about eight weeks or so, depending on the temperature. The warmer the temperature, the less time it takes.

Enjoy!
