Mims married Isa B. White ( b. Sept. 20, 1886 - d. July 19, 1971), the two living in the house they had built on East 2nd North Street, and they had one son:

  1. Neil Burkeley Mims ( Sept. 1, 1910 - May 17, 1962), who ran a sporting goods store in Newport. He married Jacqueline Susong.
